The 3D positioning system detects the exact spatial position of a component and compares it with its nominal position. Since conveyor systems and production conditions never place vehicle bodies with perfectly repeatable accuracy, the system calculates the deviation and automatically adjusts the robot program. It is used for complete car bodies as well as add-on parts such as tailgates, hoods, roofs, and doors.

How it works
Object Capture
Using four monochrome cameras in a pyramidal arrangement, the system captures the target object in a single shot. Parallel image acquisition enables fast and reliable 6D position detection.
Feature Matching
A two-stage process detects coarse reference features first and then applies precise correction algorithms. Redundant feature evaluation ensures stable and robust measurements.
Data Evaluation
The measured position data is processed in real time to automatically correct the robot program. Multi-threading in the MSS guarantees high-speed execution and short cycle times.
