Intralogistics
A flat steel blank becomes a door outer panel in a fraction of a second – under thousands of tons of pressure. What goes wrong in the press shop follows the part through the entire production. That is why quality starts here.
High cycle times, extreme forces, and minimal tolerances demand reliable inspection directly within the press process to detect deviations at the earliest stage possible.
Vision systems support stable production workflows by ensuring part quality, monitoring critical process parameters, and reducing costly downstream defects throughout the entire production line.

Decades of Dedication

Pioneering progress through decades of experience.
01

Geometry measurement after laser cutting

  • Laser-cut blanks are measured directly after processing before entering the press line.
  • Inline measurement without production stop, direct CAD referencing, trend analysis for early detection of cutting deviations.
  • Contour, hole positions, and dimensional accuracy are checked against CAD specification.
  • Technology: Inspection / BK

Blank destacking

  • Coils are cut into blanks and delivered in stacks. A robot removes individual blanks from the stack.
  • Reliable detection on reflective, oiled surfaces, high process speed, integrated empty stack monitoring.
  • Detection of blank position and orientation on the stack, identification of double blanks caused by oil adhesion. Empty stack detection triggers an automatic stop before the robot reaches an empty carrier.
  • Technology: 2DLE, MSS Inspect

03

Optical blank centering

  • Before the first press stroke, the exact blank position is determined so the robot places it precisely into the press.
  • High-precision position measurement, direct robot correction, stable performance under oil film and reflection.
  • Position measurement in X, Y, and angle on the conveyor or centering table.
  • Technology: 2DLE + BK

04

Part transfer and handling between presses

  • Partially formed blanks are transferred between press stages. Position shifts can occur during transport and unloading.
  • Inline measurement without production interruption, compact integration, covers both transfer and handling in one system.
  • Inline position correction between press strokes, guidance for part unloading and handover.
  • Technology: BK / Sense&Place, 2DLE

Surface inspection of pressed parts

  • Finished pressed parts – especially visible surfaces such as door outers, hoods, and roofs – are inspected before leaving the press shop.
  • 100% inline inspection, detection of finest defects on mirror-like surfaces, no additional handling required.
  • Detection of draw marks, dents, wrinkles, and scratches on highly reflective metal surfaces.
  • Technology: 3D + BK / ClearSpace

06

Dimensional control / end-of-line

  • Parts are checked for dimensional accuracy before being transferred to the body shop.
  • Non-contact measurement, direct CAD referencing, trend analysis enables early detection of tool wear before scrap is produced.
  • Contactless measurement of part geometry, hole positions, and contour against CAD specification.
  • Technology: Inspection

07

Stacking / carrier loading

  • Finished parts are automatically loaded onto carriers for transport to the next production stage
  • Automated carrier loading without manual intervention, reliable part handover to downstream processes.
  • Detection of carrier position and guidance of the robot for accurate, position-correct stacking.
  • Technology: FrameSense
